Adding words
How do I add a word?
In Add, type a word, phrase or sentence in the bar at the bottom and tap ↑ (or press Return on a Mac). Your card appears in seconds. Swipe it right (To Learn) to save it, or left to discard it.
Can I say a word instead of typing it?
Yes, on iOS 26 or later (and macOS 26 on a Mac). Tap the round 🎤 button while the bar is empty and say the word. When you pause, its card comes by itself. Speech is recognised on your device.
How do I add a whole list of words?
In My Words, tap + and paste or type your words, one per line or separated by commas (up to 200 at a time). Each one gets its own card.
I don't know which words to learn. Can the app suggest some?
Tap ✨ Suggest 10 Words on the empty Add screen. You'll get 10 new words for your level. Tap 🧠 for the ones you already know, ✕ for the ones you don't want, and add the rest.
Why is there no 🔊 button for some words?
Words are read by your device's built-in voices, and some languages have none. For a nicer voice, download one on your iPhone: Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices, then choose an "Enhanced" or "Premium" voice.
Reviewing
How do I review my words?
Open Review and swipe: left for the next card, right when you know the word. Known words move to 🧠 (your learned words).
What are Full Card, Blanks and Tap to Flip?
Three review modes. Full Card shows everything at once. Blanks asks you to fill the gap in a sentence. Tap to Flip shows the word first and the answer when you tap. Switch with the menu at the top of Review.
How do I change my daily goal or reminder?
Open Settings and choose New Words a Day or Daily Reminder.
Languages
How do I learn another language?
Tap the language button at the top left (for example EN) and choose Add a Language. You can learn up to three at a time.
What happens to my words if I remove a language?
Removing a language deletes its words on all your devices. The app tells you how many words first and asks you to confirm.
Can I change the language my cards are translated into?
Yes, in Settings → Languages → My language. Because your cards are written in your old language, this deletes all your words. The app asks you first.
Account and sync
How do I get my words on my iPad or Mac?
Install WordWallet and log in with the same account (Apple, Google or email). Your words sync by themselves. To sync right away, use Sync Now in Settings.
Can I use WordWallet without AI?
Cards are written by OpenAI, so adding new words needs it. You give permission once and can turn it off any time in Settings → Use AI. Read more in our privacy policy.
How do I delete my account?
On iPhone and iPad: Settings → Delete Account, at the very bottom. On a Mac: click your account at the bottom of the sidebar, then Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and all your words on every device.
